About us

How it all began

On the three founders’ first trip to India, they visited places that must be pretty close to hell.
From the simplest brick-making where hundreds of families are paying off the inherited debts of their ancestors and it is normal for even 4-year-old family members to make bricks all day – without any possibility of influencing their own future.

to steaming piles of rubbish on which children search barefoot for saleable scraps of garbage so that they don’t have to go to sleep hungry in the evening.

If we don’t help these children, no one will help them.

Why India

In principle, only countries with a particularly high level of poverty according to the Global Hunger Index were considered.

The following criteria were then decisive from a purely rational point of view:

  • Political and personal security
  • attitude towards foreigners or other religions or cultures
  • Purchasing power of the euro
  • good/easy accessibility of Vienna

In our view, India best fulfilled all of these criteria.

Why we do this?

The answer is simple. Because every child has the right to a happy and healthy childhood with a future. Every child deserves the chance to realize their dreams and lead a decent life. The mere fact that we grew up in Austria gives us the highest level of privilege. At the end of 2016, the three founders decided to make a contribution to changing the world a little. We are also dependent on your donations.

“If you want it done well, do it yourself”.

Why don’t we just donate to other local organizations?</strong

Shocked and disappointed at how the majority of organizations in India work and handle valuable donations, we had to realize “if you want it done well, do it yourself”. This laid the foundation for the Federal Foundation My Contribution. We work together with our own independent social workers and teachers on site in order to be able to guarantee complete transparency.

Why didn’t we just found an association?

Our aim was to generate the highest possible output with low administrative costs and 100% transparency. Our donors should be able to see this for themselves at any time. We opted for a “federal foundation”, as this legal form is the most closely controlled organizational form there is. At the same time, our donors can see for themselves at any time and unannounced on site where their donations have gone.
